Jeanne Tierney Thelma

I will always treasure the nearly ten years spent working alongside Jeanne and Justin in the small purchasing room at PlaceMakers Cook Street. Those were truly the best years of my career. Between getting the work done, we shared endless laughs and talked about everything—rugby, suppliers, work, and family. Jeanne was like a Kiwi mum to me. I’ll always fondly remember her morning swims and reading her morning paper, her bringing in salmon and crackers to share, and her incredibly thoughtful heart. Every December, without fail, she sent me two cards: one for my birthday and one for Christmas.

Even after we both left PlaceMakers, we stayed close, and whenever my family and I visited her over the Christmas season, she always welcomed us with open arms and asked about everyone with so much love and care. Christmas will never feel the same knowing we won't be able to drop by and see her.

Jeanne, you are so deeply loved, dearly remembered, and forever missed.

Apolgies that we could not be there with you at this time. Have special memories of Aunty Jean when we would go and visit her in Kawerau. Its a shame that we had not been in contact till now. I know my mum (Mary) talked about the times that she shared with her, that she would have loved to be there too. From all of our Tierney to your whānau we will be thinking of you all.
