Terry passed peacefully on Wednesday 13th August 2025, surrounded by family in his 82nd year. Cherished and dearly loved husband of Ihmgul, much loved father of Tanya, Geoff, Abigail and Zennah, and father-in-law of Marie. Grandfather of Jasmine, Ruby and the late Stephen. Great-grandfather of Riley and Jadzia. Brother of the late Ngaire, Susie and John. An avid golfer, Terry was the longest-standing member of NZPGA and a true legend in NZ golf. He will be dearly missed.
The funeral service for Terry will be held on Tuesday 19th August at 12:30 PM at Morrisons Funerals Henderson.

Terry was a legend and a great mentor to me. From first meeting him at the PGA School at Napier Golf Club through to much later life and sitting along side him at PGA board meetings or the occasional phone call! He was a great "club pro" but we spent time together thanks to Prosimmon Golf! It was a privilege to tell his story four years ago through the NZ Golf Magazine and it was a story worth telling! RIP and condolences to the family. PS: it was a wonderful service that made me laugh and cry!!
I just wish to acknowledge the impact that Terry had on golf in New Zealand. I always looked upon Terry as the real backbone of the NZPGA during my playing days.
Terry was not only a genuinely great guy but his impact on the golfing scene in New Zealand was immense during his life.
Terry will be missed. May he rest in peace.
